Librarian Wardrobe Special Edition Part 3

And now, Part 3, Packing it all up!
(Or go back to Part 1 or Part 2)

Once you have everything rolled up, it’s ready to be put in your bag. I fit all my clothing in a messenger, and it might be hard to tell, but there’s still room for undergarments and a smallish toiletry bag.

I’d then use my second bag for 1 pair of shoes and a few personal items and that’s really it!

Some tips: if you can bring a travel-sized, natural spray deodorant, spritz your clothes at night and let them dry while you sleep. It will eat odors and make your clothes fresher for recycling outfits. I also will wear sweat wicking performance (exercise clothes) under some items. For example, I’ll wear bicycle shorts under my skirts.

HackLibSchool had a recent week of posts related to ALA and I did a guest post for Librarian Wardrobe, if you want to check out more tips and ideas. And I only mentioned a few of the awesome events happening at the conference, so check out my Emerging Leaders site with some recommendations and you can see what I’m up to on my conference scheduler (have to be logged into ALA Connect).

I look forward to meeting many of you at ALA (come say hi!). Those of us working on Librarian Wardrobe will have badge stickers so you can recognize us (but more on that next time when I introduce everyone else). And as always, hope you’ll share what you’re wearing whether you’re going to ALA this year or not!
